Our History and Legacy

We have been a PROUD 100% woman-owned & operated business since the beginning when, in the year 1989, Cassandra C. Hansen (Sandy) incorporated the company. With a strong work ethic and the desire to serve the industry, Sandy opened ALS to distribute airport lighting and electrical supplies required to construct and maintain airport and airfield lighting to airports. Over the years, ALS has had a deep tradition of serving our customers.

Sandy’s daughter, Courtney Denney, began her career with ALS that same year while attending Texas Tech University. After receiving her teaching degree from Texas Tech, Courtney remained with ALS on a part-time basis while teaching school. In the year 2000, Sandy, wishing to take a less active role in the company, sold ALS to Courtney, who left the field of education and entered the world of airport lighting. Upon the sale of the company, Sandy continued her involvement in a management and advisory position.

The passing of the torch from Sandy to Courtney not only retained the woman-owned business entity, it remained family-owned as well. Courtney now heads up all phases of the company’s operations and remains steadfast in her approach to provide the best service in the industry.

The legacy continues as Airport Lighting Systems, Inc. continues to provide quality products & unmatched service to maintain long term customers and forge relationships with every new opportunity that presents itself.
